at significant savings to our clients.
We welcome the opportunity to counsel you.

The firm acts as National Coordinating Counsel for a valve manufacturer ensuring uniformity of defense strategies throughout the nation. The firm has been entrusted as local counsel for a manufacturer with over 20,000 cases pending against it in New York, and works with national counsel and the client to develop and implement litigation and discovery strategies.
The firm has successfully represented Architects and Engineers
in various and complex situations. Claims involving engineering certification, construction supervision and structural collapse are situations, among others, in which we have successfully defended our clients.
In its long time representation of a large national insurance
brokerage company, the firm has defended brokers and insurance
claims practices in varied and sophisticated circumstances.
Marin/Goodman, LLP has increasingly used its litigation skills to defend members of the legal profession, especially within those areas of the legal practice in which the firm possesses expertise and experience.
The firm also defends Directors and Officers of corporations,
Not-for-Profit entities and Homeowner Associations. In these
fields, the firm has litigated and developed expertise in Fair
Housing Act cases involving issues such as race and national
origin, as well as matters invoking the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) asserting claims for access and reasonable
accommodations.
The firm has defended its energy clients in environmental claims involving underground storage tanks, benzene, and volatile organic chemicals, among other claims. These sophisticated and potentially high risk litigations require close coordination with the client and often involve numerous defendants which pose additional challenges. Through close coordination with our clients, historical facts are developed and expert analysis is explored to understand and lessen risk.
Attorneys at Marin/Goodman, LLP have substantial experience
in defending manufacturers and distributors against claims of
defectively designed or manufactured products. Most recently,
the firm won a defense verdict in Federal court on behalf of
an industrial machine manufacturer which was cited as a Top
Defense Verdict of the Year. The firm has defended a wide
range of products, including heaters, home consumer products,
industrial band saws and other industrial machinery, exercise
and recreational equipment, automotive parts, and power tools,
among others.

This firm has assisted various insurance providers on coverage
issues and represented these companies in coverage litigation.
This representation led to the firm being asked to assist the
companies on certain large losses due to fraud. In this capacity the firm initiated litigations and worked with law enforcement resulting in excess of fifty million dollars in recoveries for our clients.
We have broad experience in defending personal injury actions. We have successfully defended cases in areas including assault/battery, false imprisonment, construction, defamation, wrongful death, premises liability, trucking, serious automobile accidents, among others.
The firm has developed a full-service entertainment practice
representing film and television producers, directors, creators

entertainment field
through their formidable
achievements in art and
business. We serve as
General Counsel to Closed
on Mondays, LLC, a film
and television production
company that develops,
packages and exploits
the Comic/Graphic novel
properties of the leading
independent publisher,
ONI Press, Inc. Over the past few years alone, we have handled the contractual negotiations for more than fifteen studios deals, as well as the comic industry's first network development deal with CBS television. We interface with talent agents from major talent agencies and have developed professional relationships with financiers and key players in Hollywood.
The firm's litigation background provides a platform to enforce
our client's rights and to protect clients from various risks
endemic to the industry.
As the road to success becomes even more difficult for
individuals and businesses to navigate, we have found a
pressing need for our firm to provide counsel to our clients in
an expanding range of personal and business liabilities and
ventures. Whether we perform a simple contract review for
professional services, help develop a business plan, create a risk
management strategy or facilitate a meeting with a prospective
business partner, we are always available to lend a supportive
hand. We firmly believe in the concept that a law firm should not
stifle the success of its clients but should be a creative force,
thinking outside of the box to help clients achieve their goals.
Our concierge legal services are performed under a myriad of retainer arrangements that fit our client's needs.
The firm consistently monitors its cases to assess whether
ADR may provide a viable alternative to litigation. Depending
on the client's goals and budgetary concerns, the advantages
and disadvantages of ADR are analyzed and discussed early
in the litigation process to provide optimal results. Throughout
its history, Marin/Goodman, LLP has utilized various forms of
ADR to successfully resolve disputes while avoiding the costs
associated with traditional litigation. The firm's attorneys are well versed in both arbitration and mediation and have participated in numerous ADR proceedings with favorable results. Notably, the firm's new Westchester office shares the building with a well- known, multi-state ADR provider.
After a decade at 40 Wall Street, New York, New York, the firm recently moved into its new offices in Harrison, New York in Westchester County. The new location is near the Metro-North train line and easy to reach by automobile so the firm retains its easy access to midtown Manhattan, thirty minutes away.
Our large and beautiful new offices enhanced the lawyering
processes at the firm. Additional work areas and conference
rooms, a large electronically secured and independently cooled
server room, as well as additional storage, allowed for the
necessary growth to serve our clients. The enhanced office has
proven to be cost effective over the New York City counterpart
which has enabled the firm to continue its commitment to
cost effective representation. Notably, all attorneys and staff
remained with the firm through the move and are now enjoying
the leafy, campus-like setting in Westchester. The firm still
maintains its New Jersey office.
Marin/Goodman, LLP incorporates the latest technology into its practice with the sole goal of providing better legal services to the client. Our use of technology greatly assists in the management of client risk and directly leads to more effective and cost efficient representation.
The office incorporates "paperless" files in all matters
appropriate to do so. All documents and electronic
communication are securely stored and organized on our
computer systems. These files can be securely accessed
remotely by the attorneys and the client. Thus, with the aid of a laptop computer, our attorneys appear in court, at depositions, and at conferences with the entire file at their fingertips. Our technology also enables our clients to have real time access to all significant
information and
documents on those
matters in which we provide
representation
for the client, while the
unrelated matters of others
remain safely encrypted.
Marin/Goodman, LLP is an equal opportunity employer. We firmly believe that a diverse team of attorneys and staff is necessary to fully represent the client in all the situations that may be encountered. In day-to-day matters this belief is displayed in a professional environment of respect throughout the firm. We have consistently satisfied the corporate diversity requirements of our clients.
The firm is proud to represented many leading corporations in the fields of energy, manufacturing, insurance, insurance brokerage services, security and consumer products. These have been long term relationships because of the firms responsiveness to client needs, and dedication to client goals. Our success in attaining client goals have also supported the relationship. In addition, the firm represents or represented numerous firms and companies in the field of engineering and architecture, as well as corporate boards of prestigious cooperatives, not-for-profit corporations, and associations.
The firm elects not to advertise its client base to adhere to the
finest traditions of the attorney-client relationships. With the
permission of clients, such information is available upon request.
Attention to detail is the mark of a good lawyer.
